“Happy Game Night” is a standalone virtual tabletop map application that runs on Windows and Mac. It’s a table-side gaming aid — a slim virtual map meant to replace the physical map at the gaming table. So if you don’t have enough space for minis, maps, wet-erase markers, and a towel, you can use this on your phone.

The application is also available as a pay-what-you-want download on itch.io.

The host (GM) must have a laptop or desktop to run the application. Other players can connect if they share the same Wi-Fi as the host machine. The GM shows players a QR code or shares a URL for them to join the map.

The map lets GMs pre-load a map and hide secrets behind a fog of war. Players get tokens they can move around the map. There’s a limited ability to track initiative in the application, plus some group audio features so players can use their headsets to cut background noise in the area (still being tested).
